Basic TB validation class
Take your skills class after completing Step One online portion listed in the description.
Service Description
Prior to attending the course, you must complete Part one of training by going to ISDH free IN-TRAIN online course at https://in.train.org. Select ISDH TB Basic Course #5338. If you're interested in basic validation skills training for tuberculosis (TB), there are several areas you can focus on: 1. Reading TB Tests: This involves learning how to interpret and read various TB tests, such as the tuberculin skin test (also known as the Mantoux test) or the interferon-gamma release assays (IGRAs). Training would cover understanding the significance of different test results and distinguishing between positive, negative, and indeterminate results. 2. Administering TB Skin Test: Training in administering the TB skin test is important to ensure accurate and standardized application. This would involve learning the correct technique for injecting tuberculin into the skin, understanding the appropriate reading time, and being aware of potential factors that may affect the test results. 3. Identifying TB Symptoms: Recognizing the common symptoms and clinical manifestations of TB is crucial for early detection. Training would involve familiarizing oneself with the signs, such as persistent cough, weight loss, night sweats, and fever, as well as learning to differentiate TB symptoms from those of other respiratory illnesses.
